Well, the weather for my 2006 Fall Colors trip was a bit more 'diverse' than it was in 2005. This year, snow was a much more dominant theme in many of my pictures. This was taken near the top of Cottonwood Pass. I converted it to black and white.

NEW: I have a NEW WEBSITE. It can be found at www.chrismartinphoto.com

Well, after a long 7 months of no updates, I am finally adding new photos. This was taken last weekend on Ohio Pass, which is near Crested Butte, Colorado.

Success! After being thwarted by the fog last weekend, I went out again this morning to try and capture the Flatirons at sunrise, and I think the results were much better. The light was sweet for about 15 minutes, during which I got this shot. The Flatirons are the result of an uplift during the formation of the Rocky Mountains, and are just west of Boulder, Colorado. Long's Peak is in the background behind the formations on the right, and is mostly obscured by clouds. A wider angle black and white version can be seen here.

Yet another image from the 2005 fall colors trip. This was taken shortly after this photo. This is Mt. Sneffels as seen from County Road 5, out of Ridgeway, Colorado. It has become one of my favorite vistas in the state.

Finally a newer photo! This was taken near the summit of Flagstaff Mountain, just west of Boulder, Colorado. I had tried for a sunrise shot of the Flatirons, but the fog was too thick. I drove up the mountain to get above the fog, and found this view.

Here is another from the Fall Colors trip in 2005. You can probably tell by this point that I need to get out more since I keep posting images from months ago. However, worry not, because as it nears summer I'll be getting out and taking pictures more and more. If this one looks familiar, it is because I took it around the same time as this one.

I dug back in the archives to last August, when I photographed sunrise at Bear Lake, located in Rocky Mountain National Park. I don't know why I overlooked this photo in the first place, but I have come to like it now.

Here is another photo from Colorado National Monument, taken last month. I liked the way the pinyon pine silhouetted against the sky just before sunrise.
